Chokin' and Tokin is the thirteenth episode of the Freaks and Geeks TV series. It was written by Judd Apatow and directed by Miguel Arteta. The episode first aired on March 20, 2000.

Summary[]

When Bill talks about being allergic to peanuts in class, Alan White tries to prove he's lying, but Bill ends up in the hospital after an allergic reaction. Lindsay smokes weed for the first time, making her very high and not being able to take care of herself. She was meant to babysit a neighbor's baby, making her call her old best friend, Millie, for help.

  • After this episode aired, it was decided that the show would be canceled.
  • In the credits, Doug Spinuzza is credited with the character name of "Barney," yet, when he is seen on screen (in Jeff's office talking with him, Daniel, and Ken), Jeff calls him "Frank" several times.
  • Nick talks about eating Drake's Cakes; however, in 1980, Drake's Cakes were an East Coast product and not available in Michigan supermarkets.
  • Kate Jackson left Charlie's Angels in 1979, yet the Weirs watch a prime time episode with her in it in 1981.
  • Lindsay rolls a joint on the album cover of "Ghosts in the Machine" by The Police. This episode takes place in the Spring of 1981, yet "Ghost in the Machine" wouldn't be released until October of that year.
  • The show, set in 1980, have the Geeks being fans of Star Wars, which came out in 1977. At the end of the episode, the Geeks are all dressed up for the Sci-Fi convention. Sam is obviously supposed to be Luke Skywalker from Star Wars, but his lightsaber prop is the one used by Ewan McGregor in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, which came out in 1999, the same year this episode was produced.
