Howie Gelfand

Howie Gelfand is a young man who works as a retail employer at the Silvermen's clothing store. He is portrayed by Jason Schwartzman.

Biography[]

In "Carded and Discarded", Howie asks the Freaks of what clothes do they need in the clothing store. The Freaks are not interested in buying clothes, and they inform Howie to gain fake IDs from him to watch the band, Feedback, perform at a local bar. Howie examines the appearance of Lindsay Weir. Howie charges the Freaks about 100 bucks for them to receive their IDs for the next day.

Outside of William McKinley High School, Howie meets up with the Freaks again. Howie congratulates the Freaks for being at a legal age, and he hands them their fake IDs, even if most of the Freaks complain about their IDs looking Asian and Chinese and Lindsay Weir complain about a misleading year of birth date on her ID. Howie states that the fake IDs are photos of the Vietnamese community, and he doesn't have an issue with his old fake ID, having a misleading year of birth date. Unfortunately, the Daniel Desario demands his money back from Howie, who says that the Freaks can't receive refunds from him. Regardless, Nick Andopolis, with a slightly irritated tone, demands the money back. Being frightened of Nick, Howie returns the Freaks' cash back to them, except for Ken Miller, who sticks with having his ID. Lastly, Howie forgets to mention to the Freaks that tomorrow at Silvermen's, the clothing store will be having a sale on dress shirts and he wonders if they can come back again at the store before he leaves to wish them a good day.
