Vicky Appleby is the head cheerleader of William McKinley High School's cheerleading team. She is portrayed by JoAnna Garcia.
Character[]
Vicki comes off as the stereotypical bossy, head cheerleader at first, dismissing the Geeks, only associating with other cheerleaders and jocks, and being mean and dismissive. She concedes this behavior when Bill Haverchuck calls her out on it and they actually have a real conversation, where Vicki reveals that she has notice how Bill is always having fun.
Biography[]
In "Carded and Discarded", in the school's hallway, Vicki is first shown persuading Maureen to defect from the Geeks to join the cheerleading squad. Fearing that the Geeks will lose Maureen to the popular crowd, the Geeks tell Eli to distract Vicki for them. In the meantime, the Geeks pull Maureen away from Vicki to lose her focus on Vicki, and to make her hang out with them more.
In "We've Got Spirit", in the school's gym, Vicki runs the cheerleading squad along with Cindy Sanders. They get on top of each other's backs to practice cheering the school's basketball team, and Herbert, in the mascot outfit, gets on top of the cheerleaders' back. Unfortunately, Herbert messes up by falling off from the cheerleaders' back, breaking his arm in the process. As a result, Vicki is looking for another student to be the school's mascot, and Sam Weir volunteers to win Cindy's heart. Vicki accepts Sam as the new mascot.
Surprisingly for Sam, before Sam goes to cheer on the basketball team, he sees Cindy trying to hook up with Todd Schellinger, her obsessive crush, near the gym's water fountain. He becomes so upset that he doesn't want to be the mascot anymore, and he wants Neal Schweiber to take his place instead. On the contrary, Neal is much more interested in getting laughs than following orders from Vicki. Regardless, Neal puts on the mascot outfit, and he entertains the crowd by making a fool of himself and the cheerleaders, angering the cheerleaders who think it's Sam doing it, while Sam is off talking to Todd about Cindy. Vicki kicks Neal off the stadium, causing his mask to come off. The cheerleaders are shocked by this revelation, and they are out to attack him.
In "Smooching and Mooching", at a make-out party, Sam, Neal, and Bill all attend it. Vicki, Cindy, Maureen, Sean, and other guests all play spin the bottle game with each other to determine who will kiss each other in a closet and how long will it take. Unexpectedly, Vicki gets a turn to make-out with Bill, but she finds it disgusting and Bill talks about himself and getting to know more about Vicki for a couple minutes. Vicki begins to like Bill more, and they kiss for the first time, no longer being dismissive of Bill for being a geek.
